PERSONALITY
Aldaaw Huq is a calculating man, keen of wit and slow to anger. Busy minded, but with a crippled sense of executive function, Aldaaw has a habit of allowing conversation to run away from him, and although he can feign disinterest, once a topic has been broached that engrosses him, the speed and verbosity with which he speaks increases tenfold. In this way, his keeness is infectious; the creeping excitement that eventually overcomes him tends to spread outwardly, latching onto nearby friends and acquaintances.
When engaged in a topic or subject that lies beyond his forte, his lack of interest gives him the tendency to brood, and in these moments Aldaaw's countenance gives way to a stoic sense of unemotive calm, surprising to those who don't know him well. It is as if his brain goes to rest and at times it is frustratingly difficult for others to get the man to engage. Even in a quiet room, it is not unusual for people to shout at him to snap him back to attention.
CHARACTER APPEARENCE
Tall and thin, with a pallid complexion that concedes his arcological origins, Aldaaw scarcely stands out in a crowd. A shaggy sprawl of thick black hair sits atop his head, often packed tightly into the hood of his otherwise loose fitting tunic. The electromagnetic sensor chip fused to his skull is just visible below his fringe. His chin and jaw are similarly covered in hair and his plump top lip sports a bushy, ill-kempt moustache. His thin-bridged 'kaiser's nose' (so called by his mother) juts out sharply; one of many jagged, polyhedric features. His cheeks are taught: stretched across his bone structured and riddled with flecks of freckled brown and the barely-there pockmarks of childhood acne.
Aldaaw has a habit of looming, and when he moves, the expanse of his tunic covers his legs in such a way that he seems almost to glide amongst his fellows. On the rare ocassion that he is still, he tends to flex his long, bony fingers in a reflexive manner; visibly uncomfortable by the lack of motion. In a world where mutations have spawned both great beauties and great terrors, Aldaaw inhabits a position comfortably in the middle of the pack--neither particularly beautiful nor deformed.
CHARACTER BACKGROUND
Aldaaw Huq was born within the confines of a basalt hut carved into the quarried walls of the Mikadaash Arcology, much the same as every other true-kin to rise out of the verdant Quddish earth in this era. His parents; a horticulturist mother and a praetorian father of high standing within the idyllic subterannean city, fawned over their son and--as was tradition within their family tribe--on the day of his naming, every Huq in the arcology descended upon the shrine of the Emerald Pistachio to give offerings and thanks. Whether the Emerald Pistachio gave pause in its salted, unfathomable ruminations to intercede in the life of Aldaaw is unknowable, but the boy was indeed blessed with a happy--if not mundane--childhood.
As he came of schooling age, Aldaaw showed a level of aptitude marginally above that of his peers, excelling in history and robotics; a presage of his later career within the arcology. When not studying or tinkering with salvaged cybernetic scraps, Aldaaw explored the lofty heights of Mikadaash, playing amongst the ceiling-roots that leant Mikadaash it's defining nomenclature. It is here, with a group of his young comrades that the boy had a definitive revelation. The inhabitants of the arcology were well aware of the outside world. That there was an entire world above them was never hidden; indeed the shallowness with which their city was buried and the regularity with which traders came knocking at the vast titanium doors of their home installed a healthy sense of understanding within every Mikadaashian, of their place within Qud. With that said, all-bar-one citizen of the arcology in its whole history, were unaware of what the expanse beyond their home looked like. Any person who left was affectionately stripped of their right to return and cast off with provision into the legendary swathes of forest that secluded them. One day, whilst leaping between the vast exposed roots of the trees far above them, Aldaaw came upon the remnants of what were once foundations of a building.
